Getting crowded

Not much room to work anymore, will need to make some space someplace else for all this stuff.

Rear Bunk

The rear bunk looks like it's never been used. Thinking about trying to build a rigid slide-out bunk to put in it's place or perhaps even over the dinette in front. I need to look for some reference for how to do it so that it looks original and is out of the way when not in use. Seems like there should be a good solution but the canvas one is interesting except for the middle support breaking it into the two.

On Strike, too cold!

Too cold to get any real work done on the camper. Somehow I managed to run some new electrical wire in the garage so I'd have a better place to plug into for 110v though.

tail light wiring & insulation

Tail light wiring behind super thin fiberglass insulation at the back wall. I cut the green wire going through the opposite corner using a utility knife to remove the plywood panel.

Some interior panels off

Front corner is missing a horizontal rib that completely rotted away. The back wall however is in great shape, just needing a new 1/8" birch panel.

The ugly

Water damage behind the front seats and at the back wall under the windows. Based on other Shasta projects on the web this is really typical. Ours looks to be in better condition than average, well see when we dig a little deeper.

Buffalo, NY: Winter Campsite

Tucked into the garage for the winter. Just by coincidence the previous owner of our house sold campers like this in the late 50's, the garage is almost purpose built for this. We've heard that he used to keep 3 or 4 trailers in here at a time! Hopefully I can get some work done on it while it's in here.
